SSEF participates in FCSC’s activities

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) participated in Ramadan Bazaar held at the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre (FCSC). The Foundation exhibited “Tamkeen products” that represent artisanal handicrafts created by the girls of the SSEF.
“Tamkeen” products are the outcome of the sewing workshop provided by the Foundation to support orphan girls who have dropped out of school. The workshop aims at empowering the girls and providing them with professional Skills.

The products include handicrafts, such as prayer rugs, accessories for Arab majlis, bags, pens, and others.

Thuraya Al Hashimi, executive director at FCSC, said: “Celebrating the annual Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, we, at FCSC, endeavour to contribute to community services activities. Our participation varies in this day that marks the anniversary of the passing of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in order to reach out to a wider segment of the community by our initiatives. In view of the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic this year, we cooperated with (SSEF) to support the 100 million meals campaign launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which aims to provide food support to combat hunger and malnutrition in 20 countries around the world.

Nawal Al Hamidi, Director of the Social Welfare Department at SSEF mentioned that, “the Foundation was keen to participate in the Ramadan Bazaar on this dear occasion, with Tamkeen products that have achieved great success, which resulted in creating positive reactions in orphans’ families, as those products brought them physical stability.”

The cooperation of institutions with us constitutes a supportive force for orphans and for activating the concept of social responsibility, which achieves support for orphans, who are among the most important groups in society

She added that the Foundation aims at enhancing the professional skills of the female trainees by triggering their role and enhancing their participation in various occasions to help achieve financial stability for them.
