Sharjah 24: Brigadier Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, attended the "Be My Role Model" seminar, using virtual communication technology, organised by the District Councils Affairs Department at Sharjah Police headquarters.
The seminar was attended by Brigadier General Ahmed Haji Al Serkal, Director General of Police Operations at Sharjah Police, and a number of directors and heads of departments in Sharjah Police, in addition to the participation of a group of experts, specialists, and parents.

Greeting attendees on the holy month of Ramadan, Bin Amer stressed that the timing of holding such an event is of great importance, whereas the attendees and speakers have a long experience in implanting values and principles in children, to be role models. He added that such values and principles will help children to become successful and productive individuals in a cohesive Emirati society.

The seminar, moderated by Sergeant Ahmed Al Hammadi, Department of Media and Public Relations, Sharjah Police, tackled a number of topics associated with family role as an educational and positive behavioural immunisation, and the effect of the absence of family role on the psychological and social health of children, as well as the role of social media and their impact on children’s behaviour.

Real reports on behavioural deviations and the role of the legislative system dealing with parents' disputes when there is no role model in accordance with the Federal Law on child rights, also known as Wadeema's Law, were also addressed during the seminar.
