Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Education Council (SEC) launched a survey on the impact of distance or hybrid learning on students, with the aim of providing an educational environment capable of spreading knowledge and empowering students in light of Covid-19 pandemic. The survey also aimed at measuring the impact and repercussions of the pandemic on education and anticipating the next stage.
The survey shows that 40% of the parents prefer the face to face learning, whereas 44% of them agreed to implement the distance or hybrid learning system permanently. It was applied to measure the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the educational conditions of Sharjah families, whereas the specimen included 665 parents.

SEC, in cooperation with the Department of Statistics and Community Development, carried out an opinion poll on the impact of the distance or hybrid learning system on students to know the parents view about the system applied in the Sharjah schools and the impact on the academic achievement, family relations, students personality and behaviour.

The survey included questions on the application of the distance or hybrid learning system in the UAE, based on adopted applications and electronic platforms for students to complete their studies.

Survey results showed that 77% of parents expressed that the hybrid system is effective.

His Excellency Dr. Saeed Musabah Al Kaabi, Member of the Executive Council of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Education Council, confirmed that the survey is one of the tools used by Sharjah Education Council to measure the education indicators in Sharjah, as it is based on scientific bases represented in knowing the opinions of those concerned in a transparent manner and reaching a technical and accurate diagnosis on education during the Corona pandemic.
