Sharjah24: In line with the international breast cancer awareness month "Pink October" Sharjah Ladies Club and its ten branches are organizing several activities, events, and shows which support raising public awareness, about breast cancer and the importance of having early screening.
The Sharjah Ladies Club welcomes at its headquarters on the 16th of October, The Pink Caravan which is an initiative of the Friends of Cancer Patients Association to promote breast cancer awareness and the importance of early detection. The Caravan’s mobile medical clinic will carry out earlier detection examinations, mammograms and provide guidelines about methods of self-examination. Furthermore, the club will host an educational lecture for the Friends of Cancer Patients Association with Eucerin, a leading skin care company; To support awareness-raising efforts on the importance of early detection and ways to prevent breast cancer, in addition to participating in health fitness activities.
The club annually celebrates “Pink October”, where all its facilities participate by presenting special offers in respect to this event throughout the month. It also allocates a list of services, the proceeds of which go to the Friends of Cancer Patients Association and the Pink Caravan throughout the year. The most prominent of these is the "Orchid Beauty Boutique" initiative, in which special hair services proceeds will go to the association and the Pink Caravan.
This year, the club also offers free monthly memberships for cancer patients and survivors. In addition to, discounts on memberships and various services in a number of its facilities. Awareness sessions, free consultations, raffles and prizes for exclusive services and treatments during the month is being held as well. Plus, Pink October food menus, fitness deals, and sports activities.
In turn, the club's ten branches are participating in the Pink October events, where they are all organizing real and virtual lectures and educational sessions to raise awareness about breast cancer. The branches also provide special offers and discounts for women who undergo a breast examination in a number of their facilities such as the swimming pool, Layaqa Fitness Center and Marasi restaurant.
