Sharjah24: The Sharjah Sports Council has announced the opening of registration for participation in the "Kalba-Sharjah Half Marathon", which will be held on Friday, October 29, on Kalba Lake, as part of a series of community sporting events for the current season. (http://eevents.ae/kalbahm).
Yasser Omar Al Doukhi, Director of the Sports and Community Events Department, indicated that the race goal is to confirm the value of sport and make it a way of life, and will invest in the mass success achieved in previous community events, and Kalba was chosen to organise it and to introduce participants to its landmarks as a tourist city, and several government and private agencies will cooperate in the organisation to provide the race has all the ingredients for its success.
He expressed his happiness for organising a new event within community sports because it dedicates the concept of sport as a daily behavior and habit, explained that the timetable includes receiving applications and distributing numbers to participants from 24 to 27 March. The event will start on the next day for participants to compete in four categories according to their distances, and the winners will be crowned with gold, silver and bronze medals in different categories.
