Sharjah 24 - Reuters: France reported 219,126 new confirmed coronavirus cases in a 24-hour period on Saturday, the fourth consecutive day with more over 200,000 cases.
Saturday's tally is the second-highest to date, after only Friday's record of 232,200, when French President Emmanuel Macron warned that the next weeks would be challenging due to a recent outbreak of diseases.

In France, the seven-day moving average of new cases, which help smooth out daily reporting inconsistencies, surged to an all-time high of 157,651, almost fivefold in a month.
