Sharjah24: As part of its keenness to introduce its initiatives and projects and present them in the most prominent local and international cultural forums, the Arabic Language Academy (ALA) in Sharjah is participating in the 53rd edition of the Cairo International Book Fair, reviewing the process of achieving the "Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language (HDAL)" in Egypt.
The Cairo International Book Fair will be held from January 26 to February 6, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, being running under the theme ‘Egypt’s Identity – Culture & the Question of the Future’.
Dr. Muhammad Safi Al Mosteghanemi, Secretary General of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah, and Executive Director of the Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language, reviewed during a symposium organised by the Sharjah Book Authority in cooperation with the Academy, the distinguished efforts of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, lauding His Highness’ role in adopting the historical lexicon of the Arabic language in all its stages, contributing in chronicling the Arabic language words and traces the history of the development of their usages.
He has further underscored Egypt’s prominent role, stressing that it supports several scholars and intellectuals, contributing in promoting the elements of Arab culture throughout history.
