The meeting was attended by Mattar Salem Al Dhaheri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, and several senior officers and officials from the ministry and the Fijian delegation.
At the start of the meeting, Al Bowardi welcomed Katonitabua, stressing the close friendly relations between the UAE and Fiji in all areas, most notably in defence and military areas.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the development of their defence and military cooperation, the exchange of expertise to reinforce their mutual interests, and several regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Tako Katonitabua lauded the UAE’s significant development and prosperity and congratulated the country on its Golden Jubilee, noting that the success of Expo 2020 Dubai underscores the country’s significant progress.
He also stressed his country’s keenness to enhance its bilateral ties while condemning the Houthi attacks on Abu Dhabi and extending Fiji’s support to the UAE.
