Sharjah 24: In a generous social gesture stemming from a high sense of social responsibility, the owner of Al Maha farm in Al Zubair area in Sharjah hosted a group of volunteers from the Sharjah Volunteer Centre, for two days, at his private farm, to apprecate the volunteers’ effort towards society and individuals.
Hessa Al Hammadi, director of the Sharjah Volunteer Centre, expressed her thanks to the Emirati citizen for hosting, securing accommodation 50 volunteers in his farm, in addition to organising entertainment programmes and competitions at his own expense.
Al Hammadi said that the owner of the farm represents an authentic Emirati model, who has a social responsibility towards his country and society, and who provided all the needs of this honourable team of volunteers.
Hessa Al Hammadi added that the trip included a brainstorming session for volunteers, during which volunteer participations during the year 2021 were reviewed, and their demands, observations and suggestions were identified to develop the tasks entrusted to them, improve volunteering procedures and volunteer work, and embody basic voluntary values based on sincerity in giving.
Hessa Al Hammadi stated that the volunteers are tasked to contribute to the organisational and supervisory work in the events at the level of the Emirate of Sharjah, noting that there is a volunteer coordinator on behalf of the centre in all branches of the department who works to coordinate and arrange with the events’ organisers, register volunteers, and disseminate volunteering culture, supervising volunteer opportunities and granting volunteer hours.
It is worth noting that the Sharjah Volunteer Centre was established in 2016 and currently includes 21487 volunteers of all categories.
