SIH organises 15th “Bisharat Al Qaith” under the theme “Mulberry”

Sharjah 24: Maryam Al Sahlawi, coordinator of events and activities at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH), stated that this year's “Bisharat Al Qaith” a ceremony that marks the ancient Gulf tradition of ushering in the summer season with celebrations) event is at the Centre for Cultural Heritage Activities.

It is now in its 15th year and is titled "Mulberry". At this event, kids can do things like paint and plant mulberries, and there will also be a useful talk about the benefits of mulberries.

Maryam Al Sahlawi confirmed in exclusive remarks to "Sharjah 24" that the purpose of “Bisharat Al Qaith" event is to focus on the children and encourage them to participate in traditional and folkloric events so as to consolidate and preserve the UAE's heritage in our present life.

The Sharjah Institute for Heritage conducts this yearly event for children and teens to remind them of the Emirati environment and its vocabulary, and each year a theme from the environment and heritage of the United Arab Emirates is picked as the focus.
