Sharjah 24: In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to the Sharjah Police, His Excellency Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, inaugurated, on Wednesday, the second phase of the facilities ordered by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, affiliated to the Punishment and Correctional Institution Department (PCID).
In the presence of Brigadier General Saeed Ali Lootah, Acting Director General of Punishment and Correctional Institutions at the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Ahmed Abdulaziz Shuhail, Director of the Punishment and Correctional Institution Department at Sharjah Police, a number of specialised officers in the institution, a number of representatives of the Sharjah Department of Public Works, Sharjah Cooperative Society, and Buraq of Sharjah Asset Management.
The inauguration began with a tour of the corridors of the new building, reviewing the institution’s inmates’ residence areas, and the services it contains, including clinics equipped with the best medical equipment, services for delivering documents for released inmates, services for providing food supplies to inmates, and issuing bank cards for inmates.
His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police was also briefed on the highly efficient security and digital systems, the central operations room, and the mechanisms used to transport inmates, in addition to the Al Amal vehicle, which is concerned with transporting sick inmates and the elderly to health authorities.
At the conclusion of his tour, the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police stressed that the responsibility of the Sharjah Police towards taking care of the rights of the institution’s inmates is great, and that the services we provide are nothing but a reflection of the noble humanitarian values and principles of the United Arab Emirates towards inidividuals, without regard to their nationality, religion or race.
His Excellency expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for His Highness's continuous interest and support for the Sharjah Police.
On the sidelines of the opening, His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police honoured four of the institution’s affiliates, for their excellence, dedication to work, and their outstanding role in raising the work environment.
