Sharjah24: Expo Centre Sharjah (ECS) is set for an exceptional season as it announces its bustling event calendar for the final quarter of 2024, reinforcing the emirate’s prominence and vibrancy in economic, trade, tourism, and cultural facets.
With a total of 10 trade exhibitions and high-profile events on the horizon, scheduled to take place at its main venue in Sharjah and affiliate centres in Khorfakkan and Al Dhaid, Expo Centre Sharjah reaffirms its pioneering role in bolstering the emirate's exhibition and conference industry and supporting key business sectors that promote Sharjah's diverse economy.
Expo Centre Sharjah is gearing up in the fourth quarter of the year to host an impressive line-up of international exhibitions catering to diverse sectors, including trade and culture. These exhibitions provide advanced platforms aligned with the region’s economic growth and sustainable development goals. Notable upcoming events include the 54th Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show, International Education Show, and Sharjah International Book Fair.
H.E Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Expo Centre Sharjah, emphasised that the focus on the exhibitions sector underscores the commitment to fulfilling the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, in promoting sustainable growth and advancing efforts to support economic diversification in the emirate.
Al Owais noted that the UAE’s exhibitions and conferences sector is witnessing rapid growth, solidifying the country's position as a global business hub. The exhibition industry is a key contributor to economic development and GDP growth in the UAE, as it drives growth in vital sectors, such as trade, industry, and tourism.
For his part, H.E Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, said that the Centre has successfully raised its visitor tallies to over 2.5 million annual visitors, along with thousands of exhibitors and experts from across the globe.
This reaffirms Sharjah’s stature as a global destination for business and investment, driven by the Centre’s continuous expansion. With a lineup of 49 events scheduled this year, Expo Sharjah’s 2024 calendar is packed with special events and exhibitions eagerly awaited by audiences in the UAE and the region. These events meet diverse market needs and significantly contribute to boosting the local economy.
Among the Centre’s standout exhibitions in Q4 2024 events calendar is the 54th Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show, scheduled from September 25 to 29. A flagship event of Expo Centre Sharjah, this biannual exhibition serves as a prime platform to showcase the latest designs and trends in watches and jewellery industry.
Highlighted events in this season include the Emirates Perfumes and Oud Exhibition, which will be held from October 4 to 13, offering a unique opportunity to explore the finest brands of perfumes and oud in the region.
Also on the agenda is the International Education Show, which will be hosted by Expo Sharjah from October 9 to 12. The event will bring together students and prospective graduate students with top educational institutions with the world’s top educational institutions.
The Centre will conclude its 2024 events calendar by hosting Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF). Taking place from November 6 to 17, this globally renowned event highlights the cultural and civilizational essence of the emirate of Sharjah, drawing a vast audience of notable guests, writers, and publishers from within the UAE, the Arab world and beyond.
The upcoming schedule for Expo Al Dhaid features a variety of events and activities. These include the Al Asayl Exhibition, which showcases services and equipment for horses, camels, and falcons, and the Adventure and Camping Exhibition, in addition to many retail sector exhibitions and cultural and social events.
Meanwhile, Expo Khor Fakkan is set to host several exhibitions in the last quarter of 2024 including the Gulf Perfume and Fashion Exhibition, the Eastern Bride Exhibition, and the Khorfakkan Winter Exhibition.
