"Poetry Pharmacy" offers poetic prescriptions to visitors at SIBF

Sharjah 24: Mohammed Abdulrazzaq Al Holi, who leads the "Poetry Pharmacy" section at the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair, shared some exciting news. This year, for the first time, the fair has created an interactive space where visitors can receive personalized poetry recommendations based on their feelings. After a brief chat about their mood and preferences, visitors will be guided to poetry books that resonate with their emotions, turning reading into a delightful experience.

Al Holi explained that the process starts with a few quick questions to understand how the reader is feeling. Based on this conversation, a tailored "poetry prescription" is given, which might include a short poem, a longer passage, or even an entire collection. The goal is to help people find poetry that speaks to them and introduces them to new favorites.

In an exclusive interview with “Sharjah 24,” Al Holi mentioned that the "Poetry Pharmacy" offers eight different types of poetry prescriptions designed for various moods and needs. These include Relaxation, Self-Rescue, Self-Discovery, Messages from the Heart, Safe Space, Joyful Energy, Earth's Medicine, and Spark of Creativity. He emphasized that the recommendations balance classic and contemporary poetry from both Arabic and international authors, deepening readers’ connection with poetry and providing a comforting, emotional experience.

Al Holi encourages everyone to stop by the booth, learn how the poetry prescriptions work, and receive personalized poetry suggestions based on their mood. The booth will be open throughout the fair, which lasts from November 5 to 16 at Expo Centre Sharjah.
