The launch took place at Bait Elowal in Sharjah, in the presence of the Kalimat Foundation’s Board of Trustees and a distinguished audience of public figures, media representatives, art connoisseurs, and supporters of humanitarian causes. During the event, the Foundation unveiled a range of artful products including fashion, stationery, and lifestyle products inspired by eL Seed’s signature “calligraffiti” style, which blends traditional Arabic calligraphy with contemporary art to convey messages of unity, hope, and cross-cultural understanding. The artist is celebrated worldwide for transforming walls and public spaces into expressive works of art, with monumental pieces in cities such as London, Paris, and Dubai.
The partnership unites Kalimat Foundation’s humanitarian mission with eL Seed’s internationally acclaimed artistic vision, blending Arabic calligraphy with contemporary art to convey messages of unity, hope, and cultural understanding. Recognised worldwide for his monumental calligraffiti installations in cities such as London, Paris, and Dubai, eL Seed uses art as a bridge between communities and a catalyst for dialogue and inclusion.
Speaking at the launch, Her Highness Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi said: “Every time we come together for children, we affirm that compassion remains a driving force for positive change. At Kalimat Foundation, our mission is to reach those often left behind and ensure every child has the opportunity to read, learn, and dream. This collaboration with the distinguished Tunisian artist eL Seed reflects the power of creative partnerships to transform vision into lasting impact. His art embodies values of identity, language, and belonging, which lie at the heart of our work. Through this partnership, each creation represents a promise that more children will open books and discover a world of possibility.”
Adding his perspective, eL Seed said: “Working with Kalimat Foundation goes beyond creativity; it’s about using art as a force for social impact. This initiative connects culture, learning, and compassion, empowering children to see the world through the lens of curiosity and imagination. By making knowledge more accessible, we’re not just inspiring young minds, we’re helping generations in shaping and transforming their own future.”
All proceeds from the eL Seed x Kalimat Foundation collection will fund the Foundation’s Pledge a Library programme, with a particular focus on supporting children in Tunisia by providing access to stories and learning resources.
Since its inception, Pledge a Library has distributed more than 180 portable libraries, enriching the lives of over 100,000 children across 27 countries through partnerships with humanitarian organisations worldwide.
The full eL Seed x Kalimat Foundation collection will be available for purchase at the Kalimat Foundation booth during the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF 2025) at Expo Centre Sharjah, running until 16 November 2025, and online through the Kalimat Foundation. Each purchase allows visitors to own a piece of meaningful art while directly contributing to a child’s right to read and access books.
