Hamdan bin Mohammed attends Dubai Future Forum 2025

Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, attended the first day of Dubai Future Forum 2025 at the Museum of the Future. The event gathers over 2,500 futurists, leaders, and innovators from around 100 countries until November 19.

Strategic focus on future design

Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that shaping the future is a top priority for nations and organisations. He highlighted Dubai’s model of international collaboration and innovation in future planning, aiming to create a better society through technology and partnership.

Dubai future forum’s role

Launched in 2022, the forum is an annual platform for global futurists to identify priorities, explore opportunities, and develop solutions that benefit humanity. Dubai aims to remain a global hub for future opportunities and collaboration.

Dubai Foresight Awards

During the event, Sheikh Hamdan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid honored winners of the Dubai Foresight Awards. The awards recognized outstanding futurists, innovators, and initiatives across categories such as change-making, societal impact, and environmental foresight. Notable winners included Fiji’s ‘Pasifika Futures Report,’ UNICEF’s Youth Foresight Fellowship, France’s ‘Sustainable Futures,’ Italy’s ‘City Longevity,’ Greece’s ‘Futures that Heal,’ Australia’s ‘For Our Future,’ Cameroon’s ‘Congo Basin Futures,’ the US’s ‘Cool Climate Collective,’ and Egypt’s ‘Seeding the Future.’

Capacity building and collaborations

Sheikh Hamdan attended the graduation of the second cohort of ‘FEEL: A Disruptive Futures Programme,’ which develops advanced foresight skills among global leaders. He also met graduates of the Dubai Future Experts Programme, designed to train Emirati talent for future leadership roles. He highlighted the importance of capacity-building in foresight to enhance human knowledge and societal progress.

Key themes and activities

Day 1 featured keynote speeches and panel discussions on topics such as artificial intelligence, future societies, healthcare, and system optimization. Workshops included sessions on citizen foresight, scenario planning, migration, and global futures methods. The event also showcased immersive AR and VR experiences to foster interactive exploration of future opportunities.

Looking ahead

Day 2 will focus on the future of cities, space exploration, the relationship between humans and the environment, youth-led innovation, community partnerships, and resource resilience, aiming to prepare for emerging global challenges and opportunities.
