Sharjah 24: The first Sharjah Human Investment Forum was launched today, Wednesday, at the University of Sharjah (UOS), in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the university, and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Family and Community Council.

The forum, themed “Humanity and Heritage in Palestine,” aims to promote initiatives that strengthen the human and cultural heritage of Palestine.

Inauguration of the Forum

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi inaugurated the forum at Al Razi Hall, organised by NAMA Women Advancement Establishment in cooperation with The Big Heart Foundation and the University of Sharjah.

Objectives and focus of the Forum

Noura Mohammed Al Ali, Head of Programmes at NAMA Women Advancement Establishment, explained that the forum serves as a specialised platform to foster strategic thinking in humanitarian and development work. It gathers experts, researchers, and decision-makers to discuss human development prospects at regional and global levels.

New initiatives and strategies launched

During the forum, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi announced several new initiatives to support women’s empowerment and Palestinian heritage. These include the establishment of the ‘Chair in Palestinian Studies’ in collaboration with the University of Sharjah, and the “Palestine Heritage Fund,” which aims to support research and development projects related to Palestine. The Chair will evolve into the “Jawaher Al Qasimi Centre for Palestinian Studies” after three years, serving as a specialised academic resource.

Programme highlights and discussions

The forum featured dialogue sessions and workshops focused on best practices in investing in people, supporting communities affected by crises, and safeguarding Palestinian cultural identity. It emphasised empowering women and youth to actively participate in comprehensive development efforts.
