Contribution to Dubai’s creative ecosystem
During the visit, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan highlighted Alserkal Avenue’s role in enriching Dubai’s cultural and creative ecosystem, fostering emerging talent, and enhancing quality of life in line with the Dubai Social Agenda 33. He praised the district for reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading destination for creative industries and arts.
Tour of Concrete space
Sheikh Hamdan toured Concrete, a 1,250-square-metre multidisciplinary space for cultural events. Shortlisted for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2017, the venue’s flexible design symbolises the harmony of diverse cultural influences.
Visit to Fiker Institute
Sheikh Hamdan also visited Fiker Institute, an interdisciplinary think-tank promoting dialogue on global governance, foreign policy, and culture. He explored the Institute’s library, which houses over 15,000 curated titles in Arabic and English.
Cinema Akil tour
Sheikh Hamdan visited Cinema Akil, an independent platform launched in 2014 to showcase global films to UAE audiences. As the GCC’s first arthouse cinema, it highlights filmmakers across different eras and genres.
Stop at The Third Line gallery
The tour concluded at The Third Line, a Dubai gallery founded in 2005 that champions contemporary regional artists. The gallery hosts exhibitions, artist talks, and publishes art books, supporting both established and emerging talent.
