Ahmad Makia: 60 publishers and artists in 8th art book fair

Sharjah 24: Ahmad Makia, Head of Publications at the Sharjah Art Foundation, announced the participation of 60 publishers and artists from around the world in the art book fair (Focal Point), whose 8th edition was launched by the Foundation, on Friday, at Bait Obaid Al Shamsi. He noted that the fair will run for three days.

He stated that the eighth edition of the art book fair (Focal Point) will continue until 14 December. The fair features artists and publishers from Arab and international countries such as Brazil, Australia, and Kosovo, all of which share a focus on independent professions related to artistic innovation in books, including distribution and design.

Makia told "Sharjah 24" that the festival includes various activities and workshops that allow the public to engage with contemporary artistic content. He added that the fair aims to serve as a platform for all groups involved in printing and publishing anywhere in the world, offering studios for printing, design, distribution, and even artistic shops and libraries.

This year, the fair brings together artists, graphic designers, and printing studios showcasing publications representing diverse cultural environments. The fair also provides dedicated sections to showcase works by UAE-based artists and select titles from the Sharjah Art Foundation.
