Sharjah24-WAM: Under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has inaugurated King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa Park in Abu Dhabi to mark Bahrain’s 54th National Day on 16 December 2025. The initiative serves as a tribute to the deep fraternal bonds between the UAE and Bahrain and highlights the shared values and enduring friendship between both nations.

A nature-rich family space with 1,100 mature Ghaf trees

The park boasts over 1,100 mature Ghaf trees, creating a lush, shaded setting ideal for families, fitness enthusiasts, and nature lovers. It offers a range of immersive outdoor activities, including elevated tracks, scenic trails, a pump track, a dedicated cycle route, and an air-conditioned walkway stretching approximately 700 metres.

Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the DMT, highlighted the importance of the park’s opening, stating: “The opening of King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa Park reflects the deep bond shared between the UAE and Bahrain, and most importantly, the fraternal relationship between their leaders. We at the Department of Municipalities and Transport are proud to be the custodians of this landmark venue.”

Spaces for wellbeing, relaxation, and community activities

Visitors can enjoy open green lawns, yoga and meditation decks, children’s play zones, and fitness areas designed to accommodate People of Determination and senior visitors. At the centre of the park sits a newly built café with a cooled outdoor terrace and an elevated viewpoint overlooking the forest canopy. Additional amenities include food trucks and conveniently located water fountains.
