Sharjah to host UAE Judo Juniors Open Cup on February 1

Sharjah 24: The UAE Judo Federation has opened registration for the UAE Judo Federation Open Cup for Juniors, which will be held at Sharjah Sports Club on February 1, in cooperation with the Sharjah Sports Council.

The Federation confirmed that registration is now open for the UAE Judo Federation Open Cup for Juniors, scheduled to take place at Sharjah Sports Club on February 1, in collaboration with the Sharjah Sports Council.

Talent discovery and abilities development

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Federation announced that registration will close on January 30, in line with the tournament regulations circulated to clubs. The competition aims to identify promising talent and develop athletes’ abilities under the supervision of the new Uzbek coach of the national youth team, Sharafuddin Lutfillaev.

A plan to develop national team skills

The statement added that the Federation has put in place a comprehensive development plan, prepared by the local technical committee chaired by Secretary General Mohammed Jassim. The plan focuses on enhancing the skills of junior, cadet, youth, and senior national teams, as part of preparations for international competitions scheduled for 2026.
