Al Hamriyah wins 9 gold medals at Jiu-Jitsu Championship

Sharjah 24: The Al Hamriyah Jiu-Jitsu team achieved a major victory by winning nine gold medals in the first round of the third edition of the Khalid Bin Mohammed Bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship.

The event was held at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex (NAS) in Dubai on January 24 and 25, 2026. The gold medalists included Mayed Ali Al Shamsi, Mayed Obaid Al Shamsi, Ahmed Yousef Al Shamsi, Hamdan Al Jasmi, Matar Ali Al Shamsi, Tahnoon Al Muhairi, Abdul Ghafoor Barak, Abdullah Latipov, and Abubaker Iskenderov.

Club leadership praises champions

Salem Al Khayyal, Board Member of Al Hamriyah Club and Chairman of the Individual Games and Talent Development Committee, congratulated the champions for their continued success and for enhancing the club’s reputation in major championships. He emphasised that the jiu-jitsu team sets a strong example for other sports within the club.

Team celebrates success and looks ahead

The players and the team’s coach, Captain Mansour Mukhtar, expressed their happiness with the gold medal achievements and stated that the team is motivated to secure further victories in upcoming competitions.
