Under the leadership of Sheikha Mariam, Deputy Chairperson of the Presidential Court for National Projects, the foundation will promote a new understanding of leadership rooted in purpose, guided by values and expressed through service. It aims to empower young people from the UAE, the Arab world and beyond to address complex challenges through vocational leadership that drives positive change and benefits their communities and the wider world.
Sheikha Mariam said leadership begins with understanding one’s identity and values, adding that the foundation seeks to help young people grow into leaders guided by integrity, compassion and a sense of shared responsibility, viewing service as a purpose rather than a duty.
The foundation draws inspiration from the vision and values of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, reflecting his belief that progress and tradition, as well as strength and humility, can coexist. Its mission is to nurture capable and confident leaders who remain connected to their heritage while engaging with the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly changing world.
Through programmes in education, leadership, research and collaboration, the foundation will create pathways for young people to learn, reflect and act, equipping them with the skills to lead across cultures and contexts. By 2035, it aims to reach 100,000 young leaders, helping them turn aspiration into action and potential into impact.
Sheikha Mariam emphasised that the foundation’s work is not only about preparing individuals for success but also about inspiring young people to draw strength from their roots, build confidence in their identity and hope in their ability to serve others. She noted that the future will be shaped by courage, compassion and character.
The Zayed Education Foundation was launched with the support and oversight of the National Projects Office of the Presidential Court, aiming to empower young people and to invest in the leadership, wisdom and compassion that will shape a shared future.
