Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament
Sharjah 24 – WAM: Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, condemned statements attributed to the United States Ambassador to Israel regarding the “acceptability” of Israel’s control over the Middle East and Arab territories. He described the remarks as a dangerous violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, warning they could legitimise occupation and annexation by force.

Violation of Palestinian rights

Al Yamahi emphasized that any suggestion of control over the occupied Palestinian territories violates international legitimacy and undermines the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent state with Al Quds as its capital.

Call for US clarification

The Speaker urged the US Administration to clarify its stance and retract the statements, affirming that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states are non-negotiable and that political support for occupation and settlement activities is completely unacceptable.
