Artificial intelligence-powered marketing technologies accounted for the largest share of submissions. Editing and translation technologies followed, along with audio content tools, animation technologies, and integrated digital infrastructure systems designed to streamline publishing workflows and expand audience reach.
The shortlist will be announced at the upcoming Sharjah Publishers Conference 2026, where selected applicants will gain access to funding opportunities and strategic support from Onshur’s network to accelerate their entry into regional and international markets.
His Excellency Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of SBA, said the initiative aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, placing knowledge at the heart of development and advancing publishing in line with sustainable growth priorities.
Al Ameri noted that the Disrupt track focuses on integrating practical technological applications into content production and distribution to enhance efficiency and competitiveness. Applications are evaluated against measurable criteria to identify scalable technologies that deliver tangible gains for publishers.
Through Onshur, Sharjah continues to position itself as a regional hub for publishing technology, building an ecosystem that connects knowledge, innovation, and sustainable industry growth.
