Sharjah24/WAM: Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence announced late Thursday that national air defences successfully intercepted a missile that breached the country's airspace.

The Ministry confirmed that the interception triggered sirens in line with standard security procedures. No casualties or major infrastructure damage were reported following the neutralisation of the threat.

Kuwait News Agency quoted Ministry of Defence spokesperson Colonel Saud Al-Atwan as saying that the interception caused some debris to fall, resulting in minor material damage, including to a vehicle, but no human injuries.

He added that the Kuwaiti armed forces continue to perform their defensive duties with high efficiency and readiness, safeguarding the nation and maintaining its security and stability.
