Abdullah bin Zayed discusses Iran attacks with leaders

Sharjah24: His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held phone calls with several officials and foreign ministers from friendly countries to discuss the repercussions of the brutal and terrorist Iranian missile attacks on the United Arab Emirates and several countries in the region.

Talks with international leaders

 His Highness held discussions with Dr William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya; Dr Fuad Mohammed Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq; Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan; and Tete António, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of the Republic of Angola.

Impact on regional security and economy

 The calls addressed the serious implications of current developments on regional security and stability, as well as their impact on the global economy and energy supply security.

Strong condemnation of attacks

 His Highness and the ministers and officials expressed strong condemnation of these brutal and terrorist missile attacks, describing them as a clear violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, and a direct threat to the security, sovereignty and stability of states in the region. They stressed the right of countries targeted by such attacks to take necessary measures to protect their sovereignty, territorial integrity and the safety of citizens, residents and visitors, in accordance with international law.

Appreciation for solidarity

 Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed appreciation for the solidarity shown by brotherly and friendly countries towards the UAE, affirming the safety of all residents and visitors in the country.

Strengthening international cooperation

 The discussions also covered ways to enhance international cooperation and intensify joint efforts to reinforce security and stability at both regional and global levels, support regional stability, and meet the aspirations of peoples for comprehensive and sustainable development.
