In a statement, the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry said the attack constitutes a clear breach of Iraq’s international commitments, particularly the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, which obliges host countries to ensure the protection of consular missions.
Kuwait held the Iraqi government fully responsible for the incident and for any failure to safeguard diplomatic and consular facilities within its territory.
The ministry urged Iraq to take immediate and firm action to hold those responsible accountable, prevent recurrence, and strengthen protection measures for all Kuwaiti missions in the country.
Kuwait reaffirmed that it is not involved in any regional or international conflicts and will not allow its territory to be used to launch attacks against other nations, in line with its policy of neutrality and adherence to international law.
The statement warned that continued violations could harm relations between the two countries and erode mutual trust, stressing that Kuwait will closely monitor the situation and take necessary steps to protect its interests and diplomatic missions.
