UAE to compete in Asian Beach Games in China with 31 athletes

Sharjah 24: The United Arab Emirates will compete in the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China, from 22nd to 30th April, with a delegation of 31 athletes across four sports: ju-jitsu, sailing, beach soccer, and open water swimming.

Strong participation across 14 sports event

The tournament will feature 1,790 athletes from 45 National Olympic Committees competing in 14 sports, 15 disciplines, and 61 events, with China hosting the Games for the second time.

UAE beach soccer team opens campaign in Group B

The UAE’s campaign will begin with the national beach soccer team in Group B alongside Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and Iran, following preparations led by the UAE Olympic Committee’s advance delegation in Sanya.

UAE aims to build on strong medal history

The UAE has won 28 medals in the Asian Beach Games since 2008, including 11 gold, with its most successful performance coming in Phuket 2014, where it secured 12 medals.

Olympic Committee highlights readiness and support

UAE Olympic Committee Secretary-General Faris Mohammed Al Mutawa stressed the importance of strong preparation and praised national sports leadership for supporting the UAE’s international participation.
