Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, chaired the meeting of the Ministerial Development Council in Abu Dhabi, where progress in implementing government programmes and initiatives was reviewed and proposals to enhance efficiency across multiple sectors were discussed.

Discussions on key economic and sectoral strategies

The agenda included studies and strategies related to industry, the economy, and foreign trade, along with new policies covering public services, governance of government digital projects, regulation of postal services in the UAE, and the adoption of advanced environmental sustainability practices.

Review of regulatory and public service decisions

The Council also examined draft regulatory decisions concerning healthcare and health professions, personal status matters, and services provided by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security.

Government performance and strategic implementation

Members reviewed progress reports on the execution of government strategies and initiatives, as well as updates from federal councils and committees for 2025, including the Emirates Infrastructure and Housing Council, the Industry Development Council, and the National Food Safety Committee.

Artificial intelligence and national security policies

The meeting also discussed recommendations from the Federal National Council on the government’s artificial intelligence policy and national security policy related to pharmaceutical and medical supplies industries.
