UAE President, Italian Defence Minister discuss security ties

Sharjah 24 – WAM: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received His Excellency Guido Crosetto, Minister of Defence of the Italian Republic, who conveyed greetings from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and her wishes for the UAE’s continued security and prosperity.

Strengthening defence and security cooperation

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Excellency Guido Crosetto discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the UAE and Italy, particularly in defence and security fields, building on strong bilateral relations.

Regional developments and maritime security

The meeting also reviewed developments in the Middle East and their implications for regional and international stability, including impacts on maritime security and global peace.

Italian condemnation of regional attacks

The Italian Defence Minister reiterated his country’s condemnation of the Iranian terrorist attacks targeting the UAE and other countries, stressing that they violate sovereignty and international law and threaten regional stability.
