The council will be chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, reflecting the UAE’s direction to place artificial intelligence at the core of government work and policy development.
The move is part of a new federal operating model designed to transform 50% of government sectors, services and operations within two years by adopting Agentic AI systems, enabling more autonomous execution and decision-making.
The restructuring supports efforts to create a more efficient and agile government, powered by innovation and advanced technologies, while continuing to enhance quality of life across the UAE.
The Ministerial Council for Artificial Intelligence and Development will oversee federal delivery of policies and national priorities. It will review legislation and strategies submitted by federal entities and provide recommendations to the Cabinet to ensure alignment and to accelerate implementation.
The council will supervise programmes and projects that expand the use of AI across federal operations, including service development, process optimisation and improved efficiency in public spending. It will also evaluate solutions to enhance service quality and improve the community experience, particularly in sectors such as healthcare, education, housing, infrastructure, transport, energy and telecommunications.
