Sharjah24-WAM: In line with the vision of the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has approved the renaming of the Ministerial Development Council to the Ministerial Council for Artificial Intelligence and Development.

The council will be chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, reflecting the UAE’s direction to place artificial intelligence at the core of government work and policy development.

50% shift to AI systems within two years

The move is part of a new federal operating model designed to transform 50% of government sectors, services and operations within two years by adopting Agentic AI systems, enabling more autonomous execution and decision-making.

Building a future-ready government model

The restructuring supports efforts to create a more efficient and agile government, powered by innovation and advanced technologies, while continuing to enhance quality of life across the UAE.

Strengthening policy execution and oversight

The Ministerial Council for Artificial Intelligence and Development will oversee federal delivery of policies and national priorities. It will review legislation and strategies submitted by federal entities and provide recommendations to the Cabinet to ensure alignment and to accelerate implementation.

Expanding AI across key sectors

The council will supervise programmes and projects that expand the use of AI across federal operations, including service development, process optimisation and improved efficiency in public spending. It will also evaluate solutions to enhance service quality and improve the community experience, particularly in sectors such as healthcare, education, housing, infrastructure, transport, energy and telecommunications.
