The project’s total electrical load reached approximately 26.27 megawatts, while the total length of medium- and low-voltage cables extended to 29.2km. This reflects the scale and significance of the project in supporting the electricity distribution network and meeting the requirements of urban expansion in the area.
The project forms part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to develop infrastructure and provide high-quality services for modern residential developments, in line with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to ensure quality living standards and housing stability for citizens.
Engineer Ahmed Salem Al Bass, Deputy Director of the Electricity Distribution Department at the authority, said the project was implemented according to the highest quality and efficiency standards.
The work included the extension of high- and low-voltage cable networks, as well as the installation and commissioning of several distribution substations to ensure stable and secure electricity supply for the new residential area with high operational efficiency.
He added that Al Mawarda is experiencing rapid urban growth, requiring an integrated action plan to meet increasing demand for energy and water services.
The authority reaffirmed its commitment to adopting the latest technologies and smart systems in distribution networks to reduce losses and ensure resource sustainability.
Al Bass added that infrastructure projects for new residential areas remain a top priority, with technical and engineering teams working closely with government entities and developers to accelerate implementation and ensure network readiness before residents move into their new homes.
