Sharjah24: In conjunction with the World Environment Day, Dr. Jassim Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work (SAVW), praised the efforts of environmental institutions, government agencies responsible for environmental affairs, NGOs, voluntary teams and volunteers in raising awareness of environmental issues and encouraging community members and institutions to preserve natural resources and the environment.
Jassim Al Hammadi noted; He pointed out that volunteering in the field of environment is one of the types of modern volunteer work that has become necessary to preserve the natural human heritage, especially what we are witnessing of environmental change and pollution that is threatening the world with its impact, and therefore the global slogan for this year came under the title “We only have land.”
The Secretary General valued the efforts of many institutions to include aspects of environmental volunteering within their programs by motivating the efforts of individuals and institutions to actively contribute to volunteer work.
