Sharjah 24: Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), said that in approving the National Tourism Strategy 2031, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has relied on the efforts made at the level of the UAE to consolidate its leading position as a tourist destination.
He added that despite being among the top 10 global tourist destinations, the UAE wise leadership aspires, as we do, to reach sustainable excellence by creating an attractive environment that contributes to attracting AED100 billion in tourism investments, and raising the contribution of the tourism sector in the GDP to AED450 billion.

He continued: "In Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, we will employ our human and material resources in line with the objectives of the National Tourism Strategy, by developing, promoting and encouraging the tourism sector in the emirate through maintaining the sustainability of its resources and developing its investments, and enhancing the image of the UAE and the Emirate of Sharjah in the minds of travelers and investors from all over the world  by shedding light on the development and renaissance that we are witnessing within the framework of a comprehensive and sustainable development process that is, in essence, in line with the directives and vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Moahmmed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and in line with the Principles of the 50 document that charts and establishes for a comprehensive strategic and development path in the coming years."
