Al Bataeh Aquathlon’s registration now open

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Sports Council has initiated the registration process for the Al Bataeh-Sharjah Aquathlon, set to take place on Sunday, August 18, at the Al Bataeh Cultural and Sports Club. This event offers a unique opportunity for sports enthusiasts, combining swimming and running. Its primary goals include promoting the culture of sports as a lifestyle and sustaining summer sports activities in an athlete-friendly environment, catering to various age groups within society.

The event is organised in collaboration with the UAE Triathlon Federation, Al Bataeh Club, Endurance Sports Services, and various other contributing and supporting organizations.

The event is aimed at attracting 150 male and female participants. Registration can be completed through the dedicated link https://www.hopasports.com/en/event/al-bateah-aquathlon-sharjah.

Aquathlon is a complex sport approved by the International Triathlon Union, combining swimming and running. The Super Sprint races involve a 150-meter swim and a 2.5 km run. The children's race commences at 6:15 am, followed by the Super Sprint race at 6:30 am. The award ceremony for the winners takes place at 8 am, with gold, silver, and bronze medals being given to the top three finishers. The design of the event's medal encapsulates the challenge of a race that begins with swimming in the desert environment of Al Bataeh in Sharjah, where the swim course intersects the desert sands and Ghaf trees, representing the region's natural landscape.
