Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Finance Department (SFD) is participating in this year’s Sharjah International Book Fair as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the digital transformation of government financial services and highlight the smart payment solutions adopted by the Government of Sharjah, most notably the “Tahseel” digital payment system.

This participation reflects SFD’s commitment to supporting the vibrant cultural movement the Fair witnesses annually, and underscores its role in enabling modern financial solutions that enhance the experience of exhibitors, publishers, and visitors. Through its presence at the event, SFD offers visitors the opportunity to explore “Tahseel,” the Emirate’s unified government platform for digital payments.

Modern financial infrastructure

Commenting on the participation, Huda Al Yasi, Director of the Financial Systems Department at SFD, said that the Department’s presence at the Fair reflects its commitment to supporting Sharjah’s digital transformation journey and strengthening a modern financial infrastructure that enables individuals and institutions to complete their transactions smoothly and efficiently.

She added: “Tahseel represents an advanced model of government financial services built on security, efficiency, and innovation. Through this platform, we aim to elevate the experience of visitors and exhibitors at one of the world’s largest and most prominent cultural events.”

Al Yasi emphasized that SFD continues to enhance the Tahseel system in line with the vision of the Government of Sharjah to improve service quality and simplify customer journeys. She noted that adopting smart payment solutions has become a key success factor for major events and for elevating user experiences across various sectors.

Modern payment options

During the Fair, SFD is showcasing the advanced capabilities of the Tahseel system, which provides a wide range of modern payment methods, including bank cards, digital wallets, mobile payments, and seamless integration with systems of both government and private entities. The Department is also highlighting key performance indicators achieved recently, reflecting significant growth in digital transactions, an increase in connected entities, and the execution of thousands of secure daily payment operations.

Smart payment solutions

SFD confirms that the Tahseel platform plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of the Sharjah International Book Fair by offering payment solutions that simplify registration and participation processes for exhibitors, while enabling visitors to complete financial transactions within the Fair quickly and effortlessly. This enhances the overall visitor experience, reduces the reliance on cash, and raises levels of security and transparency.

The system also provides unified financial services to participating entities, such as publishing houses and cultural institutions, helping them streamline their operational processes and improve efficiency.
