The leaders discussed expanding these frameworks to serve shared interests and contribute to the prosperity and wellbeing of their peoples. The discussions took place during an official meeting at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, as part of His Excellency Lee Jae-myung's state visit to the UAE.
UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed the Korean President, expressing confidence that the visit would deepen UAE-Korea relations and promote sustainable growth. They reviewed key areas of cooperation, including economic, trade, investment, renewable energy, technology, artificial intelligence, sustainability, education, and culture, exploring opportunities for collaboration aligned with their development priorities.
Both leaders reaffirmed their dedication to broadening cooperation guided by a shared vision for progress and the potential for joint initiatives. They exchanged views on regional and international developments, emphasising the importance of supporting peace, stability, and development efforts, especially in the Middle East.
His Highness highlighted the UAE’s intention to continue strengthening economic and trade relations with Korea, citing the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in 2024 as a milestone. He praised Korea as a key trade partner and emphasized recent growth in bilateral relations serving as a model for constructive engagement.
His Highness expressed a commitment to working closely with President Lee to promote shared visions for sustainable development and inclusive prosperity. He reaffirmed the UAE’s approach to building growth-oriented partnerships with like-minded countries.
President Lee praised the strong ties between the two countries, focusing on areas such as technology, artificial intelligence, energy, and culture. He signed the VIP guestbook, expressing pleasure in visiting the UAE and highlighting the growing strategic relationship. He wished the UAE continued progress and prosperity.
To mark the occasion, His Highness hosted a luncheon in honor of President Lee and his delegation. Earlier, both leaders greeted a community group comprising students, engineers, nuclear energy experts, and economic representatives from both nations participating in the visit.
The talks were attended by senior officials, including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, and other sheikhs, ministers, and officials. The Korean delegation included ministers and senior officials, emphasising the importance of this strategic partnership.
