Connecting over 350 publishing houses across 80 countries, the platform enhances global distribution and marketing for its members. It offers practical opportunities for cross-border collaboration and supports international content sales through streamlined, digital-first services.
The announcement was made during Sharjah Publishing City’s participation in the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair, where its pavilion highlighted the Free Zone’s tailored services for publishers and authors and showcased the new digital platform to visiting industry professionals.
Saif Al Suwaidi, Director of SPC Free Zone, stated: “The Publishers Platform is a strategic move in advancing Sharjah’s publishing sector and enhancing its international reach. It embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to establish the emirate as a centre for authors and creators and a hub for cultural and knowledge exchange between the Arab region and the world.”
He added, “The new platform provides our members with a practical tool to expand their networks and establish new partnerships. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to deliver innovative solutions, strengthen infrastructure, and support a publishing ecosystem that sets a standard both regionally and internationally.”
Along with the platform launch, the Sharjah Publishing City pavilion at the fair displayed a wide range of titles from member publishers, including Global Media Publishers, Lamia Publishing, Tour de Historias, Dar Al Bayan Al Arabi, and Al Zad Publishing & Training. It also featured companies such as Lightning Source Sharjah, Austin Macauley Publishers, and Bears Factor Literary Agency. The pavilion offered these organisations direct engagement with international publishers and content specialists, providing a platform to demonstrate their skills in printing, publishing, and distribution.
