Sharjah24: PublisHer, the global movement founded by Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi to advance women in publishing, has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone Authority (SPC Free Zone) to expand opportunities for women-owned publishing businesses locally and internationally.

Under the agreement, SPC Free Zone will offer tailored incentives to women-led publishing companies, including special licensing packages, access to its business ecosystem, and support for promoting PublisHer initiatives across its digital platforms. The partnership also includes collaboration on workshops, book launches, networking events, and media engagement, as well as access to SPC’s Sheen Theatre for selected annual activities.

In turn, PublisHer will connect women publishers based at SPC with its global community, feature them in its international directory, and provide mentorship and capacity-building programmes to support their professional development.

Sharjah’s vision for knowledge and opportunity

Commenting on the partnership, Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi said the MoU reflects Sharjah’s commitment to expanding opportunities and knowledge, enabling women-led publishers to thrive as creators and changemakers within a globally connected publishing hub.

A dynamic global publishing hub

The collaboration is anchored in Sharjah Publishing City’s ecosystem of more than 9,600 companies from over 100 countries, positioning the emirate as a leading centre for publishing, the creative industries, and knowledge-based services.
