Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yammahi, President of the Arab Parliament, urged the United Nations and relevant international bodies to take concrete measures to hold Israel accountable for ongoing violations. He also called for intensified efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
In a statement marking the 48th International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Al-Yammahi highlighted the severe humanitarian and political situation caused by continued Israeli aggression in Gaza, escalating attacks in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and widespread displacement and violations that he described as amounting to war crimes and genocide.
He stressed that Israel persists in violating the Sharm El Sheikh Agreement through military operations, blocking humanitarian aid, expanding settlements, and enabling settler militias to attack civilians, all in clear defiance of international agreements and UN resolutions.
Al-Yammahi emphasised that the Day of Solidarity is not merely symbolic but a reaffirmation of the unwavering Arab and international commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause. He underscored the need to strengthen parliamentary and diplomatic efforts to ease Palestinian suffering and ensure they obtain all their legitimate rights.
