Sharjah 24 – WAM: Under directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) completed the packing of over 10 million meals for the people of Gaza. The aid will be sent aboard the Mohammed Bin Rashid Humanitarian Ship as part of the UAE’s Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 initiative.

Leadership statement and community praise

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasized the UAE’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and praised the overwhelming response from the community. “I am proud of our community’s enthusiastic response, and of the efforts of more than 20,000 volunteers… The UAE will always remain a steadfast supporter of the Palestinian people and their cause,” he said.

Volunteer mobilisation

Initially, only 2,000 volunteers were needed, but more than 20,000 people participated within a week, demonstrating the UAE’s deep-rooted values of generosity and solidarity. The meal packing took place at Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City, in a day-long event attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who toured the venue and met volunteers.

Minister highlights UAE support

Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Secretary General of MBRGI, underlined that the UAE’s humanitarian assistance reflects its unwavering principle of supporting nations in need. He noted that providing over 10 million meals for Gaza builds on the country’s ongoing relief efforts over the past two years.
