His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasized the UAE’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and praised the overwhelming response from the community. “I am proud of our community’s enthusiastic response, and of the efforts of more than 20,000 volunteers… The UAE will always remain a steadfast supporter of the Palestinian people and their cause,” he said.
Initially, only 2,000 volunteers were needed, but more than 20,000 people participated within a week, demonstrating the UAE’s deep-rooted values of generosity and solidarity. The meal packing took place at Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City, in a day-long event attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who toured the venue and met volunteers.
Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Secretary General of MBRGI, underlined that the UAE’s humanitarian assistance reflects its unwavering principle of supporting nations in need. He noted that providing over 10 million meals for Gaza builds on the country’s ongoing relief efforts over the past two years.
MBRGI, the region’s largest foundation of its kind, spent over AED 2.2 billion in 2024, benefiting approximately 149 million people across 118 countries. Its work is structured around five pillars: Humanitarian Aid & Relief, Healthcare & Disease Control, Spreading Education & Knowledge, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and Empowering Communities. Launched in 2015, MBRGI consolidates over 30 initiatives to address global challenges and empower vulnerable populations.
