Sharjah Coop adopts AI platform to automate retail operations

Sharjah24: Sharjah Cooperative Society signed a strategic cooperation agreement with LEAFIO, a global provider of AI-powered retail solutions, to improve space efficiency and automate merchandising across its branches. The move reflects Sharjah Coop’s commitment to digital transformation and to strengthening its position as a leading retail institution locally and regionally.

Under the agreement, Sharjah Coop will implement the LEAFIO AI Retail Platform, an integrated system designed to optimise inventory management, automate planograms, improve space utilisation, and support data-driven decision-making. The platform is used by more than 250 retail chains worldwide and has delivered proven results, reducing waste and improving operational performance.

His Excellency Majid Al Junaid, Director General of Sharjah Cooperative Society, said the agreement marks a key milestone in the Coop’s digital journey. “Our partnership with LEAFIO represents a pivotal step towards building a fully integrated smart retail model. It enhances our operational flexibility, future readiness, and ability to deliver high-quality services and a seamless customer experience,” he noted.

Zied Hammami, Executive Director – Retail, added that the platform will strengthen operational consistency, raise merchandising standards, and provide real-time insights across all branches.
