Sharjah 24 – WAM: The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the agreement signed in Muscat, Oman, on the exchange of prisoners and detainees in Yemen, calling it an important humanitarian step that helps alleviate human suffering and supports regional stability.

Appreciation for mediators and partners

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) praised Oman for hosting and facilitating the negotiations, Saudi Arabia for its cooperation, and the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Yemen and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for their roles in the process.

Step toward peace and stability

The Ministry highlighted that the agreement contributes to building confidence and creating conditions conducive to peace in Yemen.

Continued support for political solution

The UAE reaffirmed its support for all regional and international efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive and sustainable political solution to end the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people and ensure their security, stability, and development.
