Focus on peace and substantive details
Zelensky noted on social media that the talks covered "certain substantive details of the ongoing work" and included "good ideas that can work toward a shared outcome and lasting peace." He thanked the envoys for their "constructive approach, intensive work, and kind words."
Continuous efforts to end the war
He emphasized that Ukraine is working "24/7" to bring the conflict closer to an end, ensuring that all steps and documents are realistic, effective, and reliable. Ukrainian negotiator Rustem Umerov was also scheduled to speak with the envoys again on Thursday.
Progress on US-led draft plan
The post followed Zelensky's earlier statement that Ukraine had won limited concessions in a US-led 20-point draft plan to end the invasion. While Moscow reviews the plan, it has not indicated a willingness to drop its territorial demands in eastern Ukraine. Zelensky confirmed that Kyiv successfully avoided immediate requirements to withdraw from Donetsk or recognize territory seized by Russian forces.
