Sharjah 24 – Reuters: The Somali Ministry of Defence announced on Thursday that its forces, working with international partners, killed 29 Al-Shabaab militants in the Jabad Godane area of Middle Shabelle region. The ministry added that vehicles and weapons intended for use in attacks on civilians were also destroyed during nighttime airstrikes.

Al-Shabaab has been waging an insurgency since 2007, aiming to seize power and impose an extremist regime.

The Ministry of Defence thanked international partners for their continued support in security cooperation, intelligence sharing, and operational assistance in the fight against terrorism, without naming specific partners.
