Vietnam tourism accelerates green shift as sector eyes 2026 growth

Sharjah24-WAM: Vietnam’s tourism sector is accelerating its transition towards green and sustainable development, with a strong focus on service quality, workforce training, and market promotion to sustain growth in 2026 amid intensifying global competition.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the sector recorded robust growth of 21 per cent in 2025, reflecting a strong post-pandemic recovery and rising competitiveness on the global tourism map.

Policy support and visa facilitation drive recovery

Industry officials attributed this performance to improved visa facilitation, including expanded visa exemptions, universal e-visa access, and longer stays for international visitors. Authorities also rolled out support measures for tourism businesses, such as reduced licensing fees, lower electricity tariffs for accommodation facilities, and streamlined administrative procedures, helping enterprises improve service quality and expand operations.

New tourism products and global promotion

Tourism promotion intensified through targeted campaigns in Europe, the United States, and Asia, alongside participation in major international tourism fairs and stronger digital marketing. Product development focused on emerging segments, including wellness, rural, golf, and culinary tourism, aligning with rising global demand for sustainable, experience-driven travel.
