Khaled bin Mohamed meets BYD CEO to advance EV manufacturing ties

Sharjah24 - WAM: His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, met on Wednesday, on the sidelines of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, with Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and CEO and Co-Founder of BYD, the Chinese manufacturer of electric and hybrid vehicles.

During the meeting, participants explored opportunities for cooperation and the exchange of expertise to advance the electric and hybrid vehicle manufacturing sector. The discussions emphasised supporting the development of a sophisticated industrial ecosystem that strengthens the competitiveness of the national economy by attracting leading global companies to key priority economic sectors.

Supporting sustainability and sustainable mobility

The meeting also examined ways to support sustainability initiatives and accelerate the shift towards sustainable mobility solutions powered by alternative energy sources. These efforts align with the UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategy and reaffirm the commitment to adopting balanced development models that integrate environmental and economic priorities at the local, regional, and global levels.
