Sharjah 24 – AFP: Manchester City returned to winning ways in the Premier League, securing their first league victory of 2026 with a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday in Matchday 23.

Early goal sets the tone

Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush opened the scoring for City in the 6th minute, giving the champions an early advantage.

Second goal before half-time

Ghanaian midfielder Antoine Simeone doubled the lead in stoppage time at the end of the first half (45+2), putting the match beyond Wolves’ reach.

City’s win moved them to 46 points, temporarily placing them second in the table behind Arsenal by four points. Wolverhampton remain bottom with eight points.
