By the end of the second day of the 30th edition of the championships, the UAE had built on a strong start, having already collected 20 medals on the opening day. The event features around 200 swimmers representing six GCC countries.
The UAE women’s team claimed 19 medals, including 12 gold, six silver and one bronze, finishing ahead of Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia in the women’s standings.
The men’s team also secured 19 medals, comprising 10 gold, five silver and four bronze, in highly competitive races against strong Kuwaiti and Saudi squads.
Kuwait enjoyed one of its best starts to the championships, leading the men’s category with 33 medals, including 14 gold. Saudi Arabia followed closely with 32 medals, 10 of them gold. Qatar recorded 15 medals across the first two days, while Bahrain collected 11 and Oman seven.
