Gold extends gains as dollar weakens

Sharjah24 - WAM: Gold and silver prices continued to rise on Monday, supported by a weaker US dollar and strong momentum from the previous trading session.

Gold prices climb further

Spot gold increased by 1.4% to US$5,029.09 per ounce as of 0037 GMT, following a nearly 4% surge on Friday. US gold futures for April delivery also advanced 1.4%, reaching US$5,051.0 per ounce.

Silver, Platinum and palladium also advance

Spot silver jumped 2.5%, building on a sharp 10% gain recorded in the previous session. Other precious metals also posted solid increases, with spot platinum rising 1.8% to US$2,134.18 per ounce and palladium gaining 1.8% to US$1,737.75 per ounce.
